An estimated 342,000 women worldwide die from cervical cancer each year- a loss of life every 2 minutes. Cervical cancer is typically a disease affecting young women, with most diagnoses occurring between the ages of 35 and 44. Almost all cervical cancers can be prevented by the HPV vaccine. Vaccine Ambassadors’ 2023 HPV initiative will provide HPV vaccines for children and adolescents residing in Suriname. 100% of contributions received will go to the purchase and international logistics of vaccines. The average cost of the HPV vaccine and in-country arrival through this initiative is $11.50.
