A Legacy of Impact: Vaccine Ambassadors, 2012-2026
For 14 years, Vaccine Ambassadors worked alongside partners to make life-saving vaccines accessible to everyone, one vaccine ata time, one community at a time. We believed that equitable access to vaccines is a basic human right, and that every child deserves the chance to grow, thrive and reach their potential.
Together with our partners we:
- Expanded immunization coverage for children and families.
- Reduced deaths and disabilities from vaccine-preventable diseases.
- Advocated for universal vaccine access for all.
- Strengthened dialogue between health care providers and communities about the value of immunization, locally and globally.
Though our work has concluded, our vision: endures: a world where every person has access to life-saving vacccines, regardless of income or country of residence.
Highlights of Our Impact
- Responding to crisis in Venezuela: Supported 300,000 vaccines for infants at the end of 2019, then delivered 50,000 measles-rubella vaccines (August 2020) and 50,000 pentavalent vaccines (March 2021) to prevent outbreaks among children.
- Rebuilding immunization programs: Delivered over 250,000 vaccines to countries in the Caribbean.
- Advancing cerival cancer elimination: Provided 4,500 HPV vaccines for children in Suriname.
- Answering emergencies: Responded to natural disasters and humanitarian crises when communities needed help most. We held a COVID-19 Response initiative across the Raleigh-Durham region.
